I hadn't actually expected to get to training camp this year. Living in SE Idaho makes it a bit of a challenge
even under the best of circumstances. But we were on vacation and drove past the Cheney exit west of Spokane and
I suggested to Barb that it might be a great Father/Son thing to do, so the next day Dennis and I drove down to
Cheney to watch the afternoon practice.
The date was Tuesday, July 31. The weather was hot but not blistering. Camp opened on the 28th or 29th, so they hadn't had much practice time yet. I don't have a long enough telephoto lens to get good close-ups, so these are blown up from the scans I got with the film developing or from scans I did myself. That is why many of them are pretty grainy. It was also hard to get any face shots partly because no one ever seemed to face the camera and partly because the few times they did the shadows were too dark. Not great photography, but it gives a bit of an idea of the flavor of the camp. Click the program cover above to start looking at the pictures.
